“I came to America because I heard the streets were paved in gold. When I got here I learned three things…
1. The streets were not paved in gold.
2. The streets were not paved at all.
3. I was expected to pave them.-Quote from an Italian immigrant; found at the Ellis Island Museum, circa 1900s
The first Cianos to start the paving and masonry business migrated from Italy, and like many immigrants, passed through Ellis Island.
John and Rob are now the 3rd and 4th generation of Cianos to join the family business. Together, they have paving and masonry work down to a science – and an art.
